Hands of Hope Ministry Updates

Congratulations to our 2024 graduating grade seven learners!

God has made a way for the space we have been praying for!

We are praising God for the ways He has made it possible for us to have what we need to make ministry possible!

The photos below are a testimony of God’s goodness through the selfless generosity of our donors and partners. Thank you to everyone who gives to where we need it most- it means we get to provide meeting spaces, clean places to learn, washed hands, full bellies, and a physical place for people to feel comfortable as we minister to those experiencing severe poverty and vulnerable situations. These may just be newly-painted walls, new roofs, and nicer-looking rooms to someone who looks through, but to us, we know it means students can learn in the rain, we don’t have to fear flooding safety issues, we don’t have to worry about our friends having a safe place to eat, and our students are in the safest place possible while they experience the love of Christ within these walls.

Hand in Hand Sponsorship Campaign - God did wonders!

Thank you, Lord, for 43 new sponsors during our Hand in Hand sponsorship campaign!

We are so encouraged for how our good God moved to make a way for our school and the kids that attend. We shared lots of really cool testimonies and ways sponsorship changes lives on our social medias during the campaign. If you’d like to take a look, click below!

Sponsorship means we can ensure that students get proper nutrition, exposure to the gospel, quality Christian education, uniforms and needed school resources, as well as counseling them and their families through the struggles of life. If you are reading this and interested in sponsoring a child, please go to our website’s home page and click “Sponsor A Child” to choose one or many children to sponsor!

Take a look below at some of our glimpses of joy that sponsorship brings- a sense of belonging, basic needs met, and ways to show Jesus through making a seat at the table for each of these children.

Mumbwa Update: The Transformation Center - Pray With Us

We are so excited about the amazing progress that was made in 2024 on The Transformation Center in a local village in Mumbwa, Mutanya Village. We are now seeing our church-plant able to have church services within the building! We are currently praying through partnership with the local village to see the next steps and what God has in store for the facility. Pray with us that we see Jesus transform the members of the village and that we would see excitement to participate in the ministry from the locals!

Christmas Party - Thank You!

One way we see serious joy is through being able to not just meet basic needs, but provide means of joy! We had our annual Christmas party, where all of our children are invited to join in a feast, play games, and celebrate the birth of Jesus.

School and Students in 2025

As we look to the next year, Hands of Hope Trust School has made some exciting changes for this school year! We have hired some new, amazing teachers and staff. We now have a guidance counselor! We are excited to now be offering our students TWO meals a day at our school! There are so many more exciting developments at our school, and day by day we are improving with God’s mercy and provision. We are setting new standards as Zambian education is making a lot of changes and we will have a whole new set of challenges, but we are trusting God and are already seeing the fruit of that!

First Day of School 2025

Prayers and Ministry Needs

Please pray for Hands of Hope! Here are some ways you can pray:

  • As we have experienced a severe drought in 2024, flooding during rainy season can bring about serious safety issues in terms of housing, transportation, as well as spread of disease and destruction. Please pray with us that we would see normal rains that give the people the food they need while still seeing that they are safe.

  • We would have the means to start constructing a hall to be able to eat lunch and host gatherings in 2025

  • Pray that God would make a way for us to have the right people and pathway to provide grade 8 and 9 in 2026

  • The people within Mutanya village would experience Jesus in a new way and partner with us in the mission to use the Transformation Center for God’s kingdom within the village

  • Our school’s students, staff, and families we partner with would be blessed in the midst of big challenges and community adversity.

  • Our students would have their needs provided for and that we would continue blessing them through donors and sponsorships

  • Our missionaries, Luke and Savannah, would travel safely as they fundraise for a few months in the US and also have a new baby!

Missionary Update

Our missionaries, Luke and Savannah, have just made their way back to the US, as Savannah will be having a second baby! Please pray for them as they navigate all the new changes and as they also head back to Zambia. While in the US, they would love to connect with you! This is also an amazing time to invite them to your church or any opportunity to share about what God is doing in Zambia! Please feel free to reach out to them via email or text message.

We are also praying for our team to grow! Gloria Philips is currently fundraising to come work with Hands of Hope in Zambia for one year.

A Night of Hope 2025

Please join us for a Night of Hope on March 14, hosted by True North Church! This is our annual fundraising event and you will not want to miss it. Please buy tickets on our website. We would love for you to join us!

Please know that we are honored you took minutes out of your day to know what is happening within this ministry and that you care to provide your time, dollars, prayers, encouragement, or whatever else you give with us. We pray God continues to bless you and keep you and that you experience more of Him in 2025, as we’re sure Hands of Hope will too.
